Note

Crankshafts are coated with hard oil film for Anti-Rust Coating.
To clean hard oil film from a crankshaft, use strong solvents (like brake cleaner or degreaser) with brushes to scrub surfaces and flush oil passages, then follow up with hot water and detergent for stubborn spots, and always finish by blowing everything dry with clean compressed air to remove all moisture and residue, paying special attention to internal oil galleys by removing plugs if possible.
